The American Academy of Pediatrics requested the committee on Fetus and Newborn to make a statement about waterbirth in 2005.The statement that was published was a selective review of current literature, including the following opinion pieces about waterbirth. None of these are based in scientific evidence or evaluation of thousands of cases.
